In our history, people who report criminal activity against peers and/or report abuses against himself or herself (activities of bullying) are often called “snitches.”  According to UrbanDictionary.com, a snitch is “someone who rats people out or tells on them.”  Whether the person “ratted” on is actually deserving of criminal charges is irrelevant to those who stand by the snitch creed.  Snitches are considered the weak links in preserving the freedom of members of society who cause disturbances in communities. At this point, I free myself of taking sides on whether someone should snitch or keep quiet on matters that may or may not involve them.  However, I would like to gain feedback on whether the “no snitch creed” has enabled bullying and suicide among our youth?  Is it fair to look down upon someone for reporting verbal and/or physical attacks from another peer?
